The delegation from Malaysia headed by Zambry Abdul Kadir, the Minister of Higher Education, visited HSE University-St Petersburg on October 10. Among the key topics of the meeting was the discussion of the first results of the mirror laboratory run by HSE University-St Petersburg and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). During the visit, the parties signed the cooperation agreement between HSE University and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT).

The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals can provide a breakthrough in creating a better future for younger generations, and universities are at the forefront of this process. Representatives of world universities discussed how to train future decision-making leaders in the concepts of sustainable development and make education more practice-oriented at the session ‘At the Frontier of Progress: Universities as a Key Element in Achieving SDGs’ in the framework of International Partners’ Week at HSE University.

In mid-March 2023, a delegation of HSE University attended APAIE, a major annual educational conference held in Bangkok. At the conference, the HSE representatives organised a session, conducted negotiations with several universities, and met with high-ranking officials from government agencies and international organisations. Furthermore, during the conference, HSE signed a cooperation and student exchange agreement with Mahidol University, one of Thailand's top national research universities.

HSE University Vice-Rector Ivan Prostakov and Department Head of the International Cooperation Office Marina Batalina opened the round table with a welcoming speech.

The OECD Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (STP) held its first meeting of the year in early April. HSE staff members Mikhail Gershman, Dirk Meissner and Elena Sabelnikova joined Ministry of Education and Science representatives as members of the Russian delegation to the event. On January 29 HSE experts participated in a seminar on ‘Skills and Returns on Education in the Russian Federation’ at the World Bank office in Moscow. The seminar was held as part of the analytical support programme for Russia’s national priority project ‘Education’.
